Once again the Bluefaced Leicester section at the Highland Show drew the crowds. Iain Ogg was the man in the middle and he picked out the lambs as his champions in both sections.
Taking the Male and Overall Championship were Messrs Currie, with a very smart tup lamb, making its show ring debut. It was by a 1250 gns Arkleby tup bought out of Carlise last back end, and out of a ewe by a Tayburn ram. Runner up in the Male section was Matt Drummond, Cassington, with a shearling tup by Blue Dragon.
The Female and Reserve Overall was taken by a sweet gimmer lamb from Mary Turner, showing at the Highland for only her second time. Shown by John McLachlan, this lamb is out of a ewe bought at Hazelwoods dispersal sale and by a Middle Dukesfield tup bought at Carlisle last autumn for 1000 gns. Reserve in the female section was a very correct lamb from Ian Minto.
