On-Line Registrations |
This year, when you return your tag form, you will automatically receive by return copy of your 2007 lamb registration form. You will see the form has been changed to allow for the inclusion of the dam's side of the pedigree. The form should be returned by 30th June 2007 to allow your lambs to be fully registered with the Association prior to the sales. For this year only members are invited to take part in a pilot scheme to test the on-line registration system. The number of participants in the pilot scheme will be capped and they will be accepted in a first come first served basis. To take part in the pilot scheme please email the office using the words ON-LINE PILOT in the subject line and quote your flock number with the text. These members (who have elected to join our pilot scheme) will be entering this information directly on to our on-line database. However, for the majority of members, this procedure will be carried out in the office this year - when we receive the completed registration form back. The database will soon be on-line and members will be able to access it via the link on this website. You will be able to look at this, but you will not be able to change any data at this stage. Members will see that the number of sheep included under their name is not correct. This is because the information was taken from the flock book - ie at birth. Most of these sheep registered will subsequently have died or been sold and some sheep will have been purchased. To correct this, we will include a 'data-cleansing' list with your 2007 Registration Form so that the flock details can be corrected. This will have to be returned to the office and we will then amend your Flock listing. Members will also receive a form for you to notify us of the level of information you wish to be displayed to others on the database. With the help of the membership, by this time next year, the database will have progressed towards being correct and members will be encouraged to have direct access to add and amend their own flock details on line. |
